For His Only Opera "Leonore" / "Fidelio" Beethoven Wrote A Total Of Four Overtures. The So Called Leonore Overture No. 1 Is Chronologically The Third Of The Series And Was Created In 1806/07 For A Failed Performance Of The "Leonore" In Prague. For A Long Time She Was Falsely Considered To Have Been Rejected By Beethoven Predecessor Of The Leonore Overture No. 2, Which Has Damaged Her Reception Very Much. It Pays Off To Have An Unprejudiced Look At This Much Shorter Overture Compared To The Numbers 2 And 3, As It Sets With Her More Lyrical Than Dramatic Character A New Accent In Beethoven's Struggle For The Ideal Opening Piece For His Stage Work. It Now Appears As A Study Edition Based On The Score Of The Beethoven Complete Edition With A New Preface.
