Symphony No. 88 In G Major Hob. I:88
Study Score
The Symphony No. 88 In G Major Probably Composed Haydn In 1787, Just A Year After The Six So Called Paris Symphonies. Together With Her Sister Work, The F Major Symphony No. 89, She Was Written For The Violinist Johann Tost, Who Sold It To The Parisian Publisher Sieber. In Both Works, Haydn Continues The Compositional Achievements Of The Paris Symphonies: Compositional Mastery, Musical Wealth Of Ideas And Detail, And An Individual, Multi Colored Use Of The Wind Section (Which, However, Does Not Require Any Clarinets). The G Major Symphony Is Characterized By Its Cheerful, Almost Cheeky Tone Especially The Theme Of The Rondo Finals Has Sustainable Earwig Qualities. The Study Edition Adopts The Musical Text Of The Haydn Complete Edition And Thus Guarantees The Highest Scientific Quality.
