Sonata In G Major Op. 13
For Violin And Piano
Among Grieg's Three Violin Sonatas, The Great C Minor Sonata, Op. 45, Is The Best Known Today. Wrong, Because The Two Early Sonatas Enchant With Their Playfulness And Youthful Tone. In Addition, They Are Already Playable For Advanced Students Due To The Slightly Lower Technical Requirements. The G Major Violin Sonata Op. 13, Written In 1867, Is Noticeably Influenced By Grieg's Enthusiasm For Norwegian Folk Music, Especially The Lively Exterior Movements Take The Traditional "Jumping Dance" As A Model. In Addition To The Second Print Edition Of 1887, Which Was Revised By Grieg Himself, This Urtext Edition Also Uses The Autograph In Stockholm And Thus Offers An Optimally Backed Score Text.
