This Four Movement Suite Is Based On A Collection Of Welsh Songs Inspired By War And Revolution. The First Movement, A Mighty Warrior, Uses A Folk Song Surrounded By Original Material, Much In The Style Of Grainger. The Second Movement, Over The Stone, Is Lyrical And Longing, Reflecting A Warrior Who Returns From Battle. Men Of Harlech Brings Strong Tones Ofpride And Nationalism Before The Final Movement, Owain Glyndwr’S War So Ng. Several High Pitched Snare Drums Create The Sound Of A Welsh Drum Corps As The Music Brings The Entire Work To A Dynamic Close.
